Autumn Space News, including an update from Soul Survivor and upcoming events

We had a great time at Soul Survivor this summer! It was a great time of community and making links across the city as 70 people from 8 different projects from Leeds traveled down and camped together. We are already looking forward to next year and there are plans coming together for a potential trip over seas together next year too!

Over the Summer lots of our young people received GCSE and post 16 results and many did so well, we were so proud of them! - special mention goes to our yr 11’s from Corpus Christi Catholic College in Halton Moor who despite having a difficult year and half, did brilliantly!

This term is a sad term as we say farewell to LYCN in the city. On 22nd Oct there will be a gathering at St. Matthias where different people will be sharing and honouring the impact that LYCN has had over the years. We will also have the opportunity to share what we feel is the way forward for youth work together in Leeds.

We had a great leaders meeting the other week with leaders from each Space group and shared vision and planned in some exciting ideas for this year. After Christmas we will be having our Post Christmas Space social on Sun 17th Jan, which is an opportunity for all the volunteers from each group to meet and get to know one another better.

Lastly: there is the interest and need for several new groups to start in new areas of Leeds. If you are interested in volunteering for us and want to make a real difference to young people’s lives then get in touch, we’d love to have you!
